The film shows us the portrait of a real American family where the competition, the importance between winners and losers and programs of television of beauty is something normal. They are a dysfunctional family (like some critics describe them) where perhaps the mother is the only rational character of the story

But I think the brilliant performance by the young girl makes this film amazing. When the film takes a certain dramatic sense, the little girl gives a touch of humour, smoothes the situation. She really gives the movie of honesty and her personality gives colour to a really sad content.

BECOMING HUMAN

Can we say the Homo neanderthalensis was an extinguished race like it could be a koala?
Homo neanderthalensis are archaic humans that lived in the East of Europe between 150,000 and 30,000 years ago. They could be a geographic variant of early Homo sapiens but with some differences: they had a very large brain size, big face and short of stature.

We don’t know what happen to them but many believe that they extinguished without contributing in our evolution. The reason is that some investigator who studied the DNA of four species of Neanderthal discovered that Homo neanderthalensis was different than the huma species.

We can conclude that this species was one of the most intelligent in that time because the brains began to increase in size when a hominid began to eat meat (We must not forget that to eat meat increases the intelligence) and Homo neanderthalensis was one of the first ones in eating meat!

Love in the 21st Century

Love doesn’t change. Nowadays, love is like the same love of years and years ago. The only thing that is changing day after day is the people of our society.

We can love our husband, wife, boyfriend…This is the “real love”. The process to get it is exiting because you have to fall in love and it’s always wonderful although it bears certain suffering without which it would not be the same thing. Then the fondness always stays. This love has always been the same but with one more component: the freedom to choose the sexuality.

We can love our friends, our relatives, our pets…It’s “the love to the neighbour”. This kind of love is inside us because we sometimes can't choose with whom to share it. It comes to you: the friends appear in our life at school, at work,…If you decide to have a dog, you love it, and you don’t choose this feeling. And I think I haven’t to say anything about the relatives… This love has always been the same but without one component: we haven’t got enough time to spend on this kind of love.

Finally, we can found the “self-esteem”. The self-esteem is necessary to feel well, to be safe… without it we would not be capable of loving the others. This love has always been the same but nowadays our society tries to improve it with superficial solutions like plastic surgery.

We can find more types which move around these concepts but unfortunately we know an egoist feeling: “the love towards the material things”. The more we have the more we want. It’s a strong love for having money, power, properties…but if you think about it, you realise the material love helps to reach others kinds of love. It takes part of all the loves…like always?

Good morning! 04/04/2007

Good morning!
Today I begin my Easter holidays. Between the 1930s and 1950s smoking means sophistication and glamour and marketing companies showed us advertising campaigns about the virtues of cigarettes: it become in a sexy style of life, a healthy act.

The main problem was that in the 1930s , when many Americans began smoking and especially women who wanted to smoke, the effect of the cigarettes hadn’t yet developed. For this reason the scientific studies didn’t evidence a serious health risk.

In 1950 a prominent surgeon (Evarts A. Graham) published an article about the relation between smoking and the lung cancer, but the tobacco companies didn’t care about it because they though these studies as mere anecdotes of casualty. The reality was other: disinformation campaigns and the belief that everyone knew cigarettes could be dangerous; it was only a personal choice.

In the 1980s scientists established the revolutionary concept that nicotine is extremely addictive but the world of the marketing tried to look for a new generation of smokers.

From 2004 to nowadays some American judges have concluded that the tobacco industry have engaged in the last 40 years about tobacco’s health dangers. They travel constantly to the vanguards capitals in search of the last thing in streetwear.

In any case, it isn’t sufficient with having intuition or being creative to be a good coolhunter. They have to dominate concepts of art history, communication, psychology, scenery, sociology, marketing and graphical and industrial design.

In Europe the name of reference in the professional coolhunting world is Nelly Rodi. Like so many other terms in our language euthanasia has many meanings. Some people define euthanasia to include both voluntary and involuntary termination of life. The result is a confusion among our society with two points of view.

On one hand we can consider the euthanasia as a patient voluntarily brings about his or her own death with the assistance of a person. This is the case of Mr. Welby. He decided to stop his suffering because his final will be the same. It's his life and he can decide about it. The person who helps him to obtain his decision to die isn't a criminal; it's his last hope to avoid a major agony. Dr. Mario Riccio, who removed Piergiorgio Welby’s respirator, isn't a criminal.

On the other hand, this term is considered to be murder, for the fact the patient is unable to give a written or verbal consent. This is the point of view of the Roman Catholic Church which opposes euthanasia and for this reason Mr. Welby’s case opens the doors of a debate in Parliament about if Italians, one day, will allow to specify what medical treatment they would accept.

In my opinion, in the United States have the correct and logical system because they assure you that your election will be done and, it's clear, the suffering doesn't form a part of it. It’s difficult to choose one of them as the favourite because it depends on your needs of every moment, yours preferences, if you feel identify with his/her thought,…For this reason I have decided in the first place that it’s important to give my own classification about kinds of blogs and then I have assigned one favourite blog to every kind.

I think we can find three types of blogs:

1.- Blogs where you can feel identify emotionally: Redapple
2.- Blogs that make you to give them an opinion: Ladybird
3.- Blogs that contain curious information about interesting and funny thinks. Perhaps they can make you laugh: Blog Writer.

On the blog of Redapple we can read few writings but I enjoy a lot how this person describes what he/she likes. He/she uses a poetic vocabulary where you can imagine you’re reading a poem and it doesn’t need a rhyme to check that you think and feel the same. I’d like he/she writes more!

Ladybird always finishes his/her writings with a question and for this reason it’s easy to comment about them. If you like to give your opinion about actual topics that perhaps they can have an effect on you, you must visit his/her blog. It’s an active blog.

Blog Writer has a peculiar writings. He/she write about unusual topics and it motivates the reader to pay attention and you can obtain new knowledge. The images help to orientate about the topic. It’s an active blog too.

Poetic vocabulary + easy to comment + new knowledge = my favourite blog!!

Some advice to prevent a cold

- We must clean our nose when we notice the first symptoms: in the first suspicious sneeze we must go to the bath and clean our nose.
- We must augment our defences when we notice the first symptoms: you must drink a glass of hot milk with honey or an orange juice with honey every two or three hours until this symptoms disappear.
- We must be warm the foot.
- We must have a good feeding: we must have a good breakfast in the morning. The popularity of it has increased thanks to a big group of people of the world of the music, dance, cinema and a famous sportsman and sportswoman. Pilates has the philosophy of the occidental exercise (more dynamic and concentrate on the muscular physic) with the oriental. Pilates made more than 500 exercises (it’s called Mat) and he invented an original and unique system of equipment. The movements are based on six basics principles: concentration, control, centralization, and fluency of movements, precision and breathing.

If we do different exercises of this method with few repetitions, we can strengthen and stretch our muscles without that muscles augment their volume. The object of Pilates is to get abdominal force, improve the flexibility and a total control of the body. The Pilates method also develop, in who practice it, abilities like the attention and the discipline. Moreover, it elevates the autoesteem, the capacity of concentration and the control of the person. Pilates treats to make our body and our mind stronger.

It’s important to keep a good corporal equilibrium and to control the breathing. The method works especially with the abdominals, the base of the shoulder and the glúteos as the only point of support; it is denominated “centre of force”. The exercises are done with a special equipment (Cadillac, Universal Reformer, High Chair, Big Barrel) and their always are done in inclined, seated, kneeling or stuck-up position. It usually happen in the shape of dream or past recollection but actually this moment is totally new.

In formal studies, 70 % or more of the population affirm to have felt it at least once.

The scientific explanation is very clear: it's fault of the memory. In this effect intervene two types of memory: the short-term memory which is the one that perceives the events that belong to the present, and the long-term memory which is the one that perceives the events that belong to the past.
For example our brain, when any moment passes, has to attend the passed instants (present) and stores it in some empty place of our memory and in this way we can remember it (past), this way of consecutive form.

Our memory with dèja vu effect is when there takes place an anomaly, these actions are altering , proceeding to guard one action, instant, fact... more than one time. As this recollection already exists, gives us the familiar of already having lived it previously.

HENRY MOORE: MY SEARCH (summary with chronological order)

Moore was born in July 1898 in Castleford, Yorkshire. The result of this was he finished the war as a physical training instructor.

1919 : He went to Leeds School of Art on an ex-serviceman's grant.

1921: He won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in London. In his first year at the Royal College of Art he went to Paris with his fellow student Raymond Coxon.

1925: He visited Italy on a travelling scholarship which caused a certain creative blockage.

1926: He held his first one man show. He was also commissioned to provide a sculpture for the new London headquarters of the London Underground. The job came to Moore on the recommendation of Epstein

1929: Moore got married with a beautiful Russian, Irma Radetzsky.

1931: He was obsessed with the idea of direct carving. He made his second one man exhibition also. Epstein who wrote the catalogue saying: 'For the future of sculpture in England Henry Moore is vitally important.' His works of art was attacked in more newspapers and periodicals.

1932: Moore was able to move to the Chelsea School of Art, which had already approached him.

1934: He went to live to London. He came together with the group which included Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. Nicholson inclined to Constructivism but Moore was more interested in Surrealism.
He visited the north of the Spain during a touring holiday in 1934 and the powerful and primitive forms he found in the famous cave paintings at Altamira were a tremendous source of inspiration, both immediately in drawings and carvings, and later in bronzes such as Woman 1957-58.

1936: The International Exhibition of Surrealist Art held in London, the year in which his work was first seen in the USA. His works were included in an Cubism and Abstract exhibition of art, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

1939: After the outbreak of the Second World War he began making the first drawings of people sheltering in the London Underground during the Blitz. This was his first draped figure and a more traditional and accessible image.

1946: A retrospective exhibition of his work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York was a triumphant success.

1954: The shift from direct carving to the modelling was accelerated after 1954 when he had a brief illness. Another reason for reverting to techniques was the fact that he was being offered commissions for works on a massive scale: like the massive Reclining Figure for the Lincoln Center in New York (1961-65) or Reclining Figure made for the Unesco Headquarters in Paris (1957-58). She is 31 years old. She looks like my mother. She’s short and thin with black and curly hair. She has brown eyes and white skin. She’s like a doll. She got married four years ago with Antonio, a man who she met in Madrid. She felt in love quickly and in one year they began to live together in Barcelona.

My sister was an excellent student and it made that nowadays she is an intelligent person. She’s capable and constant with her important decisions. She’s shy and self-confident. In her life, she has been able to overcome a lot of problems which perhaps other people (and I) haven’t been able to solve. But I don’t want to talk about this, it’s the past and really it isn’t interesting. The interesting and wonderful things are in the present.
In spite of it we sometimes have discussions, I get on well with her. I think it’s normal. If you argue with someone it is because this person is important for you (Ok! it depends on the kind of argument…but I know you understand me! Oh! It’s complicated to explain…)

My brother-in-law was promoted in his job one year ago. It was good news although in few days this good news became in a sad situation because they had to go to live to Madrid. My sister and I had always been together!! I had always had her support and her help!

Nowadays my sister is pregnant of two babies (two girls). They won’t cufflinks at all because they aren’t in the same bag in her belly for this reason they’ll be different each other. The names have been chosen by the parents: Giorgina and Serina. It’s better not to judge the choice…if their parents think these are a nice name for their children, the others have to accept it… (but I’m someone! I’m their aunt! The aunt of “Gina” and “Rina”… Why these names? Complicated names…).

They’re going to be born about the 15th of January. A happy new year!

In this moment I don’t know what more to say. I’ve a lot of things I’d like to explain! But I’ll do this with patience and I suppose that when I am writing about other people I’ll return to tell more anecdotes of my sister and upside-down. For the present time it’s sufficient.

I begin...

I begin describing my family and other people who are around of me.
